Taylor Swift – Don’t Blame Me

Taylor draws a comparison between drug addiction and falling in love in this midtempo synthpop song.

The song may have been inspired by Hozier’s 2013 song “Take Me To Church,” as it bears striking sound and thematic similarities to it.

More generally, the idea that love is like a narcotic has been referenced in numerous hit songs over the years, such as “Your Love Is My Drug,” a 2010 song by Kesha, and “Dark Horse,” a 2013 song by Taylor’s erstwhile rival Katy Perry.
