Will Sahin take over as BVB coach now that Terzic has stepped down?

Borussia Dortmund has appointed a new coach for the next campaign. Edin Terzic made his exit known on Thursday.

Edin Terzic’s tenure as Borussia Dortmund’s coach ended with the team’s defeat in the Champions League final against Real Madrid. Officially, Terzic and BVB announced their resignation on Thursday afternoon. The club declared that the 41-year-old had requested “immediate termination of his contract.” This request was approved.

Dortmund did not name a replacement at first. On the other hand, a lot of evidence points to Nuri Sahin, the current assistant coach, taking over—at least temporarily. The former professional is presently finishing his course to obtain the required UEFA Pro license, and he participated in the round of decision-makers on Thursday.

“I would want to inform you that I will be leaving BVB today, despite the fact that it hurts me so much right now. “It was an immense privilege to guide this magnificent team to a DFB Cup triumph and, most recently, a Champions League finale,” Terzic told the BVB supporters. “I feel that the impending fresh start should be followed by a new guy on the sidelines after nine years at BVB, including six years on the coaching team and two and a half years as head coach. I requested those in authority for a meeting following our final at Wembley. Everyone who knows me is aware that two hearts have been pounding during the past few weeks during this decision-making process. However, my fundamental sentiment has not altered despite lengthy conversations.”
